The cuts included layoffs of 3,200 positions reported by The Hollywood Reporter, IGN, Kotaku, and Fortune in separate filings, along with 3,000 positions reported by Game Informer and an additional 3,200 positions reported by Fortune in another filing.

The layoffs came as Microsoft integrated Activision Blizzard following its acquisition and consolidated its gaming operations. The cuts affected multiple studios and support functions within the Xbox division.
